I know physics comes into play here, but I would never do this.

Okay but as a guy who is probably in this set of peoples age range… Realistically me and my brothers would ABSOLUTELY be dumb enough to do this after carefully checking if it would hold up well enough for the person on the edge to do what they needed to do. ESPECIALLY if it was something important enough as having AC in one of our places lol. Not justifying however definitely defending. The photo makes it obvious how bad this is but in the moment? oh yeah for sure would risk it!

I don’t see what the problem here is. One of them is holding to the window frame.

At least they got the skinny guy to do it

Honestly, the dude on the right is fine. Small cantilever length, at least twice his weight on the opposite side of the fulcrum, and he can leverage is own weight using the bracket the AC is sitting on.

It’s rumored that his last words were “hey could you grab me that screwdriver?”

I sure hope the weight of the people on the left are great enough to hold the extra weight of the air conditioner if he takes it off.

The physics work and they are dudes so what’s the problem? 😛

Hey, let’s be fair now!
I have the same ladder, it comes with seventeen warning labels, and this scenario isn’t on any of them.

Honestly, I don’t know if I would do this. But if your homie is helping you out, you know what you are doing on the AC unit, would you rather do this yourself or pay someone 2-3k to install this AC?

I mean… he IS using the ladder… and he’s got not 1 but TWO friends “holding” the base of the ladder…
